No wonder –
Statue of Unity for the Iron man of
India..
The world’s tallest statue of Sardar Vallabhai Patel is now open
to the public. The Statue of Unity - the 600-feet-tall statue is located in the
Narmada district of Gujarat and is 3.5 Kms away from Kevadia town and about 200
km from Ahmedabad.
Why to spend so much..
There are some reasons..Behind..!
Ø
In 1945 he had stepped down from the post of President
of Indian National Congress without playing any dirty politics, to give way for
Jawaharlal Nehru.
Ø
He is the man who could have become the first Prime
minister of India but he yielded with the post of deputy Prime minister to have
a smooth and effective Government for India.
Ø
He is the man who had worked to build the foundation
of Republic India, truly conquering about 560 Kingdoms within India; of course
with the association of VP Menon.
Ø
He was the strongest organiser –the Iron Man - behind
Gandhiji for the independence strike till ‘quit India’ movement.
Ø
He was the only man who fought against the division of
India and Pakistan just for the sake of Jinna and Nehru becoming the prime
ministers which ultimately resulted in extreme enmity between the two
countries!
Ø
He was the only one person who protested involving
United Nations in Kashmir issue. But Nehru did that. Even today the 1948
resolution of UN is the only one trump card Pakistan is using.
Off
late, with this difference of opinion he parted from the association of Nehru
and came out from the dirty politics. 1950 he passed away. The then government has
not even given one day leave for the government officials to attend the
funeral.
His daughter handed over all the
documents and funds belong to the National Congress, to Nehru, which Patel was
possessing. Nehru didn’t even ask how they will live further. She struggled even
without any medical aid and died. All these days he and his family were ignored
in every means and ways. But the Nehru family is still in the throne.. the
dynasty..!
Just for name sake after 41 years of Patel’s
death the govt of India accepted him as ‘Bharath Rathna’.
Other ways his name was getting wiped
off from the political history of India.
But now someone asked
‘why to spend?’
The answer for that should reach to
everyone in India as a tribute to that great personality. 600 feet is not
enough for his monument..!
He was much above, taller than that of all our heights...!
